AFFL RULES SECTION 1

1 The League

1.1 League Setup

The League will consist of 12 teams , 6 teams in each of 2 Conferences .

1.2 The Commisioner

The Commisioner will be responsible for :- Organizing any League-based events. Providing up to date stats for the owners , on player movements , real and fantasy , and the points earned by each player/team , on rosters as well as free agents . To aid owners with problems. To arbitrate in any disputes.

1.3 Alpha Conference

1.5 Rule changes - Normal

Rule changes can be proposed by anyone, from after the end of the season until a week before the College Draft. The proposals must be sent to the Commissioner. This is so that the Commissioner will have time to distibute the proposals to all owners. 1.5.1 Voting Voting will take place on College Draft day, before any players are chosen. For the rule change proposal to be passed a simple majority is required. If the vote is tied, then the Commissioner has the casting vote. 1.5.2 Absentee voting If for any reason an owner is not present, then they may either vote cast their in advance to the Commissioner or give another owner their proxy. If the latter is the case, then they must inform the Commissioner before the event. If neither of the absentee voting options is taken then the owner is considered as an abstention.

1.6 Rule changes - Extraordinary

If special circumstances exist that necessitate the Commissioner will pass the particulars to all owners who will then vote. In this case a two-thirds majority is required for the proposal to be passed.

1.7 Draft Nights

If any owner is unable to attend draft nights then they may submit to the Commissioner a Draft Plan. The Commissioner will then nominate somebody to follow the plan accordingly. The plan will only be actioned by somebody from the opposing Conference. Failure to attend AND a failure to provide a plan will result in the loss of ALL Draft picks.

1.8 Coach of the Year

At the end of the regular season, a ballot will be sent out to each owner for their first and second choices for Coach of the Year. While the Commissioner will nominate 2-3 names, it is a free vote and all owners are free to vote for anybody.
