The Villagers have been sold - 01/06/2003

After nine years as an owner Dave Armin has sold up so as to spend time on other projects. Although he was never able to bring the title home for the franchise, the Villagers did make the big game before losing out to the Sharks in Speedwing Bowl II. We wish him well.
The new owner is Darren O'Neill who so nearly bought the Highwaymen last year. The team has moved to Hanwell however Darren wanted to keep the traditional Villagers name.

The Hornets capped there traditional laste run with a stunning 34-8 mauling of the defending champion Harriers. Although they scraped into the playoffs with a 6-7-1 record they triumphed over the teams with the best three records in the league, a combined 29-12-1, to win it all. They also kept The Atlantic Challenge in the UK.
The Sharks took the Consolation Tournament title by defeating the Gophers 27-24. For the Gophers this was there second loss in the final in the four years it has been running.
