Rules Change History

1995 Rule Changes
 
  • The League was increased from 10 to 12 teams (1.1).
  • The PADDINGTON BEARS, owner Stephen Robinson, was added to Alpha Conference (1.3).
  • The HAYES HELLFIRES, owner John Newton, was added to Bravo Conference (1.4).
  • The regular season increased from 13 to 14 games (2.1).
  • The number of Conference games increased from 8 to 10 (2.1.1).
  • The number of non-Conference games decreased from 5 to 4, and the makeup of opponents has been given a set of guidelines (2.1.2).
  • The number of teams making the post-season has increased from 4 to 6 (2.2).
  • A Wild Card round has been introduced (2.2.1).
  • The Pro Bowl coach comes from the fourth best record team in conference, not third (2.3).
  • The Roster limit has been reduced from 24 to 22 (3.1.1).
  • The Roster limit for the off season has been decreased from 32 to 26 (3.1.2).
  • The Active Squad has decreased from 12 to 9. One Quarterback and one Running Back were eliminated and the Defensive and Special teams were combined (3.2.1).
  • A player used to be placed on Injured Reserve at the owners request, providing that he was listed as 'OUT' on the Injury report. The player would be on Inured Reserve for a minimum of 4 weeks, at owners discretion. We know follow the NFL Rules (3.3.4).
  • The limit for the number of players allowed on Injured Reserve was increased from 1 to unlimited, because of the change ro rule 3.3.1 (3.3.5).
  • A trade embargo has been introduced (4.3.2)
  • The pts that a receiver scores for a touchdown increased from 3 to 6 pts (5.1.1).
  • The pts that a receiver scores for a 2pt conversion increased from 1 to 2 pts (5.1.4).


1996 Rule Changes
 
  • The Active Squad had its Defensice/Special Team member replaced by a Team member (3.2.1).
  • The number of rounds in the College Draft decreased from 6 to 4 (4.2.3).
  • Add a definition to Teams to show the inclusion of non-defensive/special team players to Team. (5.2)
  • The Waivers list was created (4.4).


1997 Rule Changes
 
  • The Alpha Conference has changed to show that the B52S moved from Bracknell to Woking (1.3).
  • The Roster limit during the Off Season has been amended to correct an error. Also some clarification has been added (3.1.2).
  • Some clarification has been added to the rule on how a player on Injured Reserve affects the roster (3.3.2).


1998 Rule Changes
 
  • The Alpha Conference has changed to show that the Nightmare replaced the Bears (1.3).
  • The signing of Free Agents has been altered from one a day, wed-fri, to 3 a week to be nominated by wednesday (4.1.1).


1999 Rule Changes
 
  • The rule concerning the Consolation Bowl playoffs was added (2.2.4).
  • The Pro Bowl coaches have been altered from being the fourth best coaches , in each Conference, to being the coaches from the Conference Championship Games losing teams (2.3).


2000 Rule Changes
 
  • A rule concerning non-attendence at the Draft night was added (1.7).
  • A rule detailing the Coach of the Year voting was added (1.8).


2001 Rule Changes
 
  • The Heathrow Tomcats have moved and become the Gatwick Harriers (1.3).
  • We adopted the Commissioner.com Free Agent and Waiver rules this season to replace the manual system that we have used up til now. (4.1.1) (4.4.1) (4.4.2).


2002 Rule Changes
 
  • The Stoke Poges Bucks have moved to Alpha Conference (1.3).
  • The Seer Green Gophers have moved to Bravo Conference (1.4).
  • The Yorkshire Highwaymen have moved and become the Buckinghamshire Big Boys (1.4).
